RigExpert Antenna analyzers and Linux

A special version of RigExpert software can run under Wine (tested with Wine version 1.2 and Ubuntu 10.04).

(Use the detect-re.pl script instead of the ListRE program.)

Directories:

AntScope    - AntScope software and supporting files
    Tools1        - programs for RigExpert AA-230, AA-230PRO and AA-520
    Tools2        - programs for RigExpert AA-30 and AA-54
    Tools3        - programs for RigExpert AA-600, AA-1000 and AA-1400
    Tools4        - programs for RigExpert AA-170

Additional programs:

detect-re.pl   - a simple Perl script which lists RigExpert devices connected to your computer.

Setup:

1) Copy the content of this folder (or this archive) into a separate directory on your computer. Make sure that ".exe" and ".pl" files have executable flags.

2) Connect the analyzer to your computer. Normally, virtual serial port is installed automatically. Get the serial port name by running the script:

    ./detect-re.pl

The script will show the serial device name, for instance, "/dev/ttyUSB0".

3) Install Wine, if not already installed.

4) Turn on the analyzer and make sure it enters the "PC Mode".

5) Run AntScope.exe and go to the Configure - COM port menu. Select "/dev/ttyUSB0" (or other port name) and press OK, then select analyzer model from the Configure menu.

See Software Manual PDF files for instructions how to use this software.

Under Wine, LCD2CLIP.exe program should be run with a command-line argument which corresponds to the /dev/ttyUSB port number, such as

    ./LCD2CLIP.exe 0

The FlashRWE.exe program also accepts /dev/ttyUSB port number:

    ./FlashRWE.exe 0 R myfile.bin
