RigExpert Antenna analyzers and Mac OS
A special version of RigExpert software can run under Wine (tested
with Wine version 1.1.44 and Mac OS X 10.6.6) on an Intel-based Mac.
Please see the Troubleshooting section on the www.rigexpert.com website if
the Mac OS hangs when the analyzer is connected or programs cannot
send or receive data from/to the analyzer.

Setup:
1) Copy the content of this folder or this archive into a separate
directory.
2) Connect the analyzer to your computer. Normally, virtual serial
port is installed automatically.
3) Install Wine, if not already installed.
4) Turn on the analyzer and make sure it enters the "PC Mode".
5) Run AntScope.exe and go to the Configure - COM port menu. Select
"usbserial-0000xxxx" as a port name and press OK, then select
analyzer model from the Configure menu.

Updating the firmware:
Latest varsions of firmware updates may be applied on a Mac.
First, discover the USB serial device name by typing the following
command in the Terminal:
ls /dev/tty.usb*
The result should be looking like "/dev/tty.usbserial-000103D".
Start Wine, open the DOS Prompt from the Wine menu, then start the
FirmwareUpdate.exe program. (Before starting, do not forget to
change directory to the location of the program.)
Follow the instructions on the screen. When the program asks for a
serial port name, enter the name previously returned by the ls
command (without quotes).
Using the FlashRWE program:
First, discover the USB serial device name by typing the following
command in the Terminal:
ls /dev/tty.usb*
The result should be looking like "/dev/tty.usbserial-000103D".
Start Wine, open the DOS Prompt from the Wine menu, then start the
FlashRWE.exe program. (Before starting, do not forget to change
directory to the location of the program.)
Enter the serial port name as a first parameter for this program.
