Fobos SDR got new 14 GHz per second best in class Band Scan feature

We have great news! The developers at RigExpert have introduced an incredibly powerful software capability for the Fobos SDR receiver, which allows for comprehensive wideband analysis of the radio frequency spectrum. Thanks to the updated built-in firmware and the API libraries developed for it, it was possible to reveal the new potentials of the Fobos SDR hardware platform.

This news is primarily addressed to other developers who are using or planning to use Fobos SDR in their projects.

What’s new?

Control of the receiving paths is implemented at the firmware level of the receiver itself, which provides a significant increase in speed and eliminates any delays in command propagation through traditional control interfaces.

The following new capabilities are provided:

– quick tuning to any specified frequency;

– rapid retuning to frequencies from a specified list (up to 256 values, in any order, with 1 Hz resolution);

– loading frequency lists on the fly;

– sequential spectrum scanning at speeds of up to 14 GHz/s with a resolution of up to 0.6 kHz;

All previous capabilities that enable Fobos SDR to function as a classic SDR receiver remain fully intact.
