Explore the Enhanced Fobos SDR Receiver: Unleash the Spectrum

11.08.2024

We’re excited to introduce the latest updates to our Software-Defined Radio (SDR) receiver, Fobos SDR, designed to elevate your radio communication experience.

We’ve enhanced our Software-Defined Radio (SDR) receiver Fobos SDR with new features and improvements. Here are the updates:

  • 8 lines GPO port (general purpose output – software-controlled digital outputs) added to control an external equipments.
  • Passband frequency response improved.
  • Antenna inputs electricity static discharge protection added.
  • Parasitics influence minimized and noise resistance improved.
  • The low-pass filters for HF1 and HF2 inputs designed with cutoff frequency of 24 MHz.
  • USB data link stability improved.

The main features of our NEW Fobos SDR we are proud of:

  • Broad main frequency range: continuous 25 MHz to 6 GHz coverage.
  • Two auxiliary coherent direct sampling channels: 100 kHz to 25 MHz coverage, suitable for diversity reception, correlation and phase-difference direction finding.
  • Overall frequency coverage 100 kHz to 6 GHz.
  • 50 MHz sampling bandwidth: 50 M samples per second IQ rate or 2×25 M samples per second direct sampling rate.
  • High-quality signal conversion: double heterodyne, 14-bit sample depth analog to digital conversion (ADC).
  • Continuous data stream: digitized data with no dropped buffers, uninterrupted recording and real-time analysis.
  • All the features simultaneously, no “either-or”: 50 MHz rate, and 14-bit ADC and continuous data stream within continuous frequency coverage.

The compact, aluminum and EMI-shielded case further enhances the durability, making it ideal for various challenging environments.

Equipped with USB 3.0 data link, the Fobos SDR ensures easy device connectivity and quick data transfer. Strong and robust USB 3.0 Type B plug provides sufficient power delivery and gives extra commutation durability.

The  further enhances the durability, making it ideal for various challenging environments.

We provide software support for Fobos SDR including lightweight open source API library, compatibility libraries and wrappers for SDRSharp plugin, SoapySDR, GNURadio, SDR++, HDSDR ExtIO, application software examples for C, C++, C#, Pascal (Delphi). Windows and Linux operation systems supported. All source codes are available on our GitHub page and provided with LGPL-2.1 license. This is the best quick start kit for other software development, education and evaluation.

For quick start and easy to use we provide a portable software distributions of SDRSharp, SDR++ and HDSDR with Fobos SDR support configured and ready to run. The earliest versions could be downloaded from our server right now. Full native API support is implemented in μSDR v.1.7.1 and higher, which is preferable to use see with Fobos SDR. The latest version is available on the product web page.

Fobos SDR is really good new toy for radio communication developers, scientists, enthusiasts, hackers, amateurs and professionals.
