RigExpert: 2025 Year in Review — Challenges, Innovation, Progress

22.12.2025

The year 2025 was a year of contrasts for RigExpert — a year of achievements and losses, challenges and new opportunities. innovations and new horizons. It clearly demonstrated our resilience, team spirit, and determination to move forward even under the most difficult circumstances. It also showed the strong support and trust of our partners and customers, whose encouragement helped us overcome these challenges and continue our work.

This year, RigExpert said goodbye to the well-known orange line of antenna analyzers — AA-35 ZOOM, AA-55 ZOOM, and AA-230 ZOOM. These devices became an important part of our history and earned the trust of thousands of users around the world.

At the same time, 2025 marked the launch of a new revolutionary product — MATCH. Upgradeable MATCH is a next-generation antenna analyzer designed to grow together with the user. Its functionality and frequency range can be expanded through two licenses — Advanced and RFE. To make this transition even easier, we introduced a special Advanced to RFE upgrade license, simplifying the move between license levels.

Unfortunately, this year also brought serious challenges. On February 12th RigExpert’s administrative office was completely destroyed by a Russian ballistic missile. Most importantly, all employees are safe and unharmed. Despite this devastating event, the RigExpert team remained committed to restoring operations. Starting in early March, we were able to resume product deliveries, expand our inventory, and fine-tune our quality control processes to ensure the highest standards for our customers.

Right after that lot’s of bright and positive moments happened throughout the 2025 so we could share them with our customers. We delivered numerous software and firmware updates, including improvements to:

  • our free software AntScope and AntScope 2
  • Shackmaster Power
  • Flashtool firmware
  • software for Fobos SDR

A special highlight was the release of Fobos SDR 3.0, focused on improving stability and performance. In addition, Fobos SDR is now supported by SatDump, a powerful open-source satellite data processing platform, opening new possibilities for satellite and SDR enthusiasts.

Another important milestone was the official assignment of NATO Stock Numbers (NSNs) to RigExpert MATCH antenna and cable analyzer and to batteries for Motorola DP and R7 series radios. This achievement significantly simplifies procurement and logistics for military and governmental organizations.

We are also proud that RigExpert equipment was used in notable international radio  DXexpeditions, including:

  • VU4AX South Andaman Island DXpedition (March 2025)
  • Radio Club du Bassin Minier DXpedition to the Marquesas Islands (January 12–27, 2025)

In 2025, we launched an important student support program, providing our equipment to young students and researchers for their studies and experiments. We plan to actively expand this initiative in the coming years.

Looking ahead, we have ambitious plans for the future. RigExpert will continue to focus on innovation, product development, and meeting even the most demanding needs of our users.

Thank you to everyone who supported us throughout this year. Together, we remain strong — and ready for what comes next.
